JOINT ENTRANCE EXAMINATION (ADVANCED) 2018

The entire JEE (Advanced) 2018 Examination will be conducted in fully computer based test mode.


There are changes in exam pattern of IIT from year to year.
In year 2009 , a new question Integer Type were introduced.
In 2009 , there were two question papers of three hours duration, each consisting of separate parts in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
Questions in these papers were of objective type, which are to be answered on a specially designed machine-gradable sheet using HB pencils only.
Incorrect answers are awarded negative marks.
In 2017
Only 2,20,000 of the top rankers in JEE(Main), which includes students from all categories( GE,OBC(NCL), SC and ST ) will be eligible to appear in JEE(Advanced).
Admissions to IITs will be based only on category wise All India Rank (AIR) in JEE(Advanced) subject to the condition that such candidates are in the top
20 percentile of successful candidates of their Boards in applicable categories.

In 2018

JEE (Advanced) 2018 Examination will be conducted in fully computer based test mode.

Only 2,24,000 of the top rankers in JEE(Main), which includes students from all categories( GE,OBC(NCL), SC and ST ) will be eligible to appear in JEE(Advanced).

There are two question papers: Paper 1 and Paper 2 of three hours duration
each. Both papers are compulsory.
• Each question paper will consist of three separate sections, viz., Physics,
Chemistry and Mathematics.
• The question papers will consist of objective type (multiple choice and
numerical answer type) questions designed to test comprehension, reasoning
and analytical ability of candidates.
• Negative marks will be awarded for incorrect answers to some of the
questions.



• The question paper will be in either English or Hindi. Candidates must exercise
the choice of question paper language while registering for JEE (Advanced)
2018. Change of question paper language will NOT be entertained after the
registration.
